Our first fundraising event was “Dinner on the Bridge” on August 3, 2019. We chose this day
to follow our annual town Market Day. Tables were set up along the Covered Bridge #71 for
diners to take in the view of the Baker River on a glorious evening.
A special thanks goes out to Smokin’ Bear BBQ owned by Tim and Kim Minear, both residents
of Wentworth and Tim a veteran. They provided the food and donated all of their time for the
occasion. Camp Pemigewassett donated an enormous pot of baked beans and melt in your
mouth dinner rolls. Camp Merriwood donated trays of mac and cheese along with some
fabulous desserts. The Wentworth Elementary School 8th graders worked as servers and
clean up for the event. Members of the Friends of Wentworth organization helped with the set
up and clean up of the event.
It was a huge success and we look forward to making it an annual event.
